X Things I Would Tell My Younger Self…?

Young black male thinking

My younger self, oh boy! What are the things I would tell my younger self if I had the chance to? In this rough sketch of an article, I take you on a journey of “ifs” and put in perspective some things I wish I knew earlier. I hope you enjoy your reading.

What would I tell my younger self?

If I were any younger, I’d tell myself this: Fake your death when everything else fails. This is when you escalate your creativity game.

You’d probably ask : “By faking your death?”

Your family and friends love funerals, no doubt. The odds are people are likely to spend a lot of money in the event of your sudden demise.

So why not come up with the perfect plan to fake your death?

Let family members raise just enough money for the startup of your dreams. Aha! Leave a will and have them send contributions to a fake NGO to support your dreams. I am spilling the beans, I know.

Be hopeful that one day the money reaches the account. Then, stage your mega return and seize the opportunity to reintroduce yourself.

This is beginning to sound more complicated than I thought it would but you get the point, or?

Are you looking for jobs?

If you have failed to send at least a 1500 applications this year by way of upcycling one template you could download anywhere online (which translates to an average of 4 applications everyday including Weekends), what at all were you busy doing the whole year?

If being offended by the slightest jokes shot at random was anything to go by, I don’t think there will be any Jehovah’s Witnesses left.

Bruhhh suck it up, it’s a tougher world out there. Be whatever you want to be, just don’t do stupid or be stupid. Do good, be good. Be witty. Don’t be an asshole!

What would I tell my younger self?

There’s this one thing I kept telling myself for a while now and ever since I embarked on my personal discovery journey.

Finally, I came across it from someone else here on planet web. I must admit, they found a way of articulating and conveying my thoughts way better than I would have.

This got me super excited and it’s likely due to me getting to know there are people who are on the same wavelength with silly me!

It goes like this:

“All artists are different. There’s no right or wrong way as long as it makes you (and your clients) happy.”

You saw that!

Fail early. Try many many things in life, let go of the ones that suck the happiness out of you. It’s important to be happy. Don’t just try to be happy, be happy! You have to be happy inside first in order to project that happiness onto others. Big grammar!

Hello Sir, I have something to say! Be empty and you won’t have anything to offer except your own emptiness. We don’t want that, we don’t need it! You want to be a vessel of joy, no matter how small.

Don’t be shy! “Keep the good things up”, then give yourself at pat on the back, well literally. Be in the moment. Enjoy it. Today matters more than tomorrow, sometimes it never comes and look at yesterday, it’s already gone. Do good for no reasons. And never ever be afraid to spread your own awesomeness!

Wait, what would you tell your younger self….?
